I recently returned from a solo trip to Vancouver British Columbia, Canada. On this trip I was sailing with Norwegian Cruise Line onboard the Norwegian Encore. This itinerary cruised from Los Angeles California to Vancouver British Columbia.

I can say that the Vancouver cruise port is now one of my favorite cruise ports I’ve been to so far.

Less than a 15-minute drive from the port, you can visit the Science World, an iconic landmark perfect for families and curious minds. Located amidst the city’s vibrant cultural landscape, this science center is a hub of interactive exploration and learning. While Canada closed its ports for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, 2022 saw a huge increase in passengers as the Alaska season reopened. I may be biased because I live in Vancouver, but the Vancouver sail away is by far one of the most picturesque beginnings of a cruise vacation. Having cruised from Vancouver to Hawaii and other locations six times, you need to savor the sail away on an upper deck. Alaskan cruises operate during the summer months, from May to September. The SkyTrain transports passengers from downtown Vancouver to the eastern suburbs. Waterfront Station is located one block east of the cruise terminal. You can just go into the convention centre entrance and 100 feet in on your right should be elevators and stairs to the cruise ship terminal level. The Vancouver cruise terminal (aka Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal), located within the iconic Canada Place, is an architectural marvel that will surely catch your interest.

A larger visitor center is located across from Canada Place, at 200 Burrard Street.
